Departure

Our latest project draws connections between sea shanties, hip hop, soca, ska, and dancehall — the genres that share the same social, rhythmic, and communal roots. We believe Departure represents a first step in restoring our tradition's multicultural, trans-Atlantic origins.

Featuring collaborations with Carl Harvey of Toots and the Maytals, Al Cross and Terry Wilkins of Big Sugar, Toronto hip hop artist Matt Somber, reggae MC Sunray Grennan, and many other great musicians we're privileged to share a city with.

Upcoming Shows

Remixing the Sea Shanty

We are a Toronto band remixing the sea shanty. Tight vocal harmonies meet drum & bass, hip hop, reggae, dancehall and soca — the beats drive the phrasing and energy of the singing, bringing a new sound to songs built for collective work.

Summer 2026 took us through 31 shows in 29 days across the UK — Sidmouth Folk Festival, FolkEast, Whitby Folk Week, Shrewsbury, and more. Our fourth album, Arrival, records this fall for an April 2027 release.
